Replication dump in SLT server

Hi All,

I crated a configuration to for ERP to  HDB system.

Configuration is created succesfully with no errors.

After which the automatic replication of DD02L, DD02T, DD08L tables ended with dumps.

The error message is

Capture.PNG

as per my analysis there are two programs

SDB2FHDB - has the same perform with 13 params

SDB2FIUC  - has the perform with 12 params ( this program is called during runtime )

The last 3 letters of the program name is decided at runtime based on DBSYS

In my case DBSYS is hardcoded to IUC.

I need some help to resolve this dump and get the tables replicated

Version Comparison

Hi,

Requirement: Version comparison of objects .Not Manually

Approach is input TR number  , based on that derive object name and now pass that object value into VRSD table or  FM named  GET_VRSD_ENTRY_46

and  execute it . Here  entries will contain last version and active version number.

Similar data  to be fetched from destination system and last -display the version difference number of both systems.

So I am aware that TR data tables are E070,E071

Version history tables are many but I found that VRSD is useful for our requirement.

Standard Program RSVRSRS3  is providng output in screens and FM   GET_VRSD_ENTRY_46 providing current version details.

But I am not able  to mapall, in this case i need help .

Dear Experts,

LTR (configuration and monitoring dashboard for HANA) not opening from replication server system.  We're getting NWBC logon screen, when we enter the correct logon credentials, it is not accepting and we see a message No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password (see attached screenshot)

RFC connection and approriate roles are already maintained in the system.

Any ideas, pelase?

Learning from SLT to Oracle Implementation

$

SLT as we know is one of demanding middleware technlogies today which can be very useful, though normally roadmap for SLT is HANA but in our case it was decided to use Oracle as target system and SAP ECC as the source. From SLT SP009 - it started supporting Oracle as target as well. Here is quick overview on few learnings -

Data Flow :

SAP ECC ->SLT- >Oracle DB

1) Sizing of Oracle DB Target -Memory size of Oracle DB need to be estimated correctly else often the issue occured where oracle system memory was full becaue of volume of data flowing from SAP ECC.Hence we needed to increase the memory size of Oracle to fix this issue and hence in longer term need to estimate size growth and accrodingly take actions.

2) Stats for Initial Load in SLT-  For number of tables it was observed that initial loading stats information in LTRC T code was misisng and this was fixed when SAP suggested to apply SAP Notes but the same issue appeared again when we were loading other tables then SAP said this will be taken up in further release as this was major change.

3) Timestamp field Oracle requirement- There was requirement to add Timestamp field to tables in SLT, and send across data to Oracle in oracle time stamp format. This was acheived by passing hard coded value from SLT in Oracle time format and then script was written in Oracle which will overwrite this value with latest time stamp from Oracle.

So the timestamp generation in SLT was possible but while updating to Oracle data type changed to VarChar which was not required as user required it in TIMESTAMP data type of Oracle. Hence this was only posisble in Oracle system.

4)Language Text Issue- Certain Russian language characters were reported as question mark ? in Oracle as system could not recognize and hence to fix this Oracle was upgraded to have multi Lingual capability. Post that this was rectified.

Hope above helps.

thanks,

Nilesh

Purge SLT logging tables

Hello,

We are replicating from SAP ECC to SQL database using with SLT SP09, we had an issue with one of our tables (VBSK) and had to restart the replication.Replication now appears to be working fine but there are still records in the logging table in SAP with dates prior to restarting the new replication.

Is it possible to purge the logging table in SAP of these records?

Any known issues in SLT after Oracle 12c upgrade

Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade SLT system (DMIS - 2011_1_731- 0008) database to Oracle 12c (12.1.0.2.5) from 11.2.0.4.0. I do not see any information about database upgrade for SLT systems.  Please let me know if anyone has done it so far.

Any known issues in SLT after Oracle 12c upgrade? Those have to be considered while planning upgrade?

Replication from BW DSO to Oracle fails on an selective deletion on DSO

Hello All,

We have a scenario where we replicata data from SAP BW to an Oracle DB.

It works very well overall, but on one table (a DSO table), the source trigger is deleted everytime there is an overlappig request deletion done on the DSO (by using program  RSDRD_SEL_DELETION). Has anyone witnessed such a behaviour?  There must be thousands of customers who replicate data from BW !!!

Best option for parallel replication?

$

Hi

In the very good performance guide made by Tobias, there are 2 options to achieve parallel replication. I have tried to understand the PROS and CONS between the 2 methods as described below.

What other PROS and CONS using either method are there?

Using Generic Tables Ranges

PRO:

Will give parallel replication

You can change the number of ranges for a table for which the replication process is running

Easy to define/customise in SLT

CON:

Not supported by all databases, i.e. DB2 is not supported

Does not support POOL tables

Defining Table Ranges Manually

PRO:

Will give parallel replication

Supports all databases

Supports all table types

CON:

Deep knowledge to data is required in order to define groupings/ranges for a table

More difficult to change the number of ranges for a table

How to use filter option in initial load for huge tables

Hi Gurus,

We are replicating from ECC to HANA with LTRS only initial load.

I encountered some problems, would need your expertise on this.

  • How we can use filter/selection criteria in table. example: KNB1, I want to send only for 5 company codes?
  • How we can change the target table name. like KNB1 should go to ZKNB1?
  • Can we use same DB user for replication to different schemas in same database?
  • How we can handle VBAP, BSEG like huge tables.

Failed to resolve object based navigation target ".SLT_OBN.OPEN_CONFIGURATION". Use transaction PFCG to define this OBN target in a role or contact your system administrator to assign a role with the relevant OBN entires to your user

Hi Experts,

Our SLT replication server configuration seems to be incomplete.

We're getting error message "Failed to resolve object based navigation target ".SLT_OBN.OPEN_CONFIGURATION". Use transaction PFCG to define this OBN target in a role or contact your system administrator to assign a role with the relevant OBN entires to your user" when we try to open one of the created SLT configurations from the LTR (Configuration and Monitoring Dashboard) screen. (see attached screenshot).

OBN entries are also maintained for the role SAP_IUUC_REPL_ADMIN.

Am I missing anything?

Hi All,

I am setting up hybris marketing server integrating it with SAP ERP and CRM servers.

During the technical configuration intial setup task , ERP and CRM triggers were created and the table replications were scheduled.

After which the status remains unchanged and the data replication is not started yet.

What could be missing?

I checked st22 / sm21 nothing looks fishy

I had checked LTRC tcode where the status remains Replication(Iniital load) scheduled no records trasfered.

Need some light on this

Thanks in advance,

Access plan calculation error in sender system for filtering approach

$

Hello All,

I am filtering MARA data with selection criteria

Select * from MARA where (MTART = 'UNBW' OR MTART = 'VERP') AND (SPART = '00')

I made entry in DMC_ACSPL_SELECT table as

Capture1.JPG

But job is going into error "Batch job for access plan calculation in sender system ended with errors"

And in source system, the short dump is specifying error for dynamic selection criteria.

"The reason for the exception is:

An Open SQL clause was specified dynamically. The contained field name

")" does not exist in any of the database tables from the FROM clause."

Looks like there is something wrong in my selection criteria (DMC_ACSPL_SELECT).

- Please can you point me where I am wrong here.

- Also, when I am using parallel approach even with 1 filter option, the complete data is getting loaded without any filter. Any thought on this?

Hello Experts,

I have a question regarding enhancing the source tables during replication. What are the steps to be consider before enhancing the Table in R/3 System which is already in replication.

We have come across a scenario like enhanced the table in R/3 System and when the transport moved to the next environment the transport ended with errors.

Could you please share me your inputs or thoughts if you would have faced this Scenario and what are the steps to followed.

Thanks,

HA.

Hello Experts

I am working with SAP SLT DMIS 2011_1_731 (SP7) to replicate data to SAP HANA from many databases.

Can SLT2 be installed in a BW system

$

hello

i am just reading about the SLT installation options. i know it can be installed on any ABAP system.

i am looking to set up a development environment, and wish to know if it is possible to install the SLT on a BW on HANA system.

it will replicate data from another HANA environment, into the BW on HANA  environment.

would this be seen as a non-ABAP source to non-ABAP target extraction? or because it is BW on HANA, it is a non-ABAP source to an ABAP target (as it is BW on HANA).

thanks

is Native HANA a supported Source System for OPD into BW on HANA

$

dear all

i am struggling to find any documentation to prove that a native HANA db source, i.e. a HANA db on its own, without any SAP applications, or ABAP stack sitting over it, is supported for OPD replication into a BW on HANA system. (by the way, the BW on HANA, is not the same HANA as the source).

thanks

Create Events in BOL , BOR

Hello SLT Experts ,

Depending on the values of a first table I want to use a filter in a second table during  the migration , I have found

this piece of code in BOL which it is  suppose allow me to read the info of a specific table in this case VBRK

select * from dmc_acspl_select  into table lt_acspl_select where migr_obj_alias = 'VBRK'

I have tried to put this code but I am not even able to active it ..., I get statement not accesible ,  I try to activate the whole function group no luck ,  same error , use start-of-selection but during migration I get an error .

Do you know what the problem is ? Is there any documentation about programing the includes ? the structures ? etc  available regarding this topic somewhere . ?

thank you very much

non-SAP source systems from a security perspective

$

Hello folks,

i'm about to gather information about SLT for non-SAP source systems from a security perspective and couldn't get

answers for the following issues:

1. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to limit the tables which can be replicated from an oracle or mssql source system ,

as it is done in SAP source systems via IUUC_TAB_ALLOWED.

Is there any similar functionality for non-SAP source systems?

2. I investigated that it's really hard to adjust the authorizations in terms of "least privilege" in the source db.

As mentioned in "note 1771460 - SAP LT Replication Server: Using ORACLE as non-SAP source" the following authorizations are necessary:

- Select from the specific table

- Create a table in the given schema (in order to successfully create the logging table)

=> Since the logging tables are created with the ID of next number in SNUM: IUUC_TABID its hard to adjust the authorizations

- Select from the logging table

=> same as above, hard to adjust the select privileges

- Delete the logging table

  => same as above

- Create database triggers for the specific table

=> which means in term of Oracle guide:

"To create a trigger in any schema on a table in any schema, or on another user's schema (schema.SCHEMA),

you must have the CREATE ANY TRIGGER system privilege.

In addition to the preceding privileges, to create a trigger on DATABASE, you must have the

    ADMINISTER DATABASE TRIGGER system privilege."

So the user can create triggers on any table and probably get data which he is not allowed to read!

- Delete the database triggers

"The trigger must be in your schema or you must have the DROP ANY TRIGGER system privilege.

To drop a trigger on DATABASE in another user's schema, you must also have the ADMINISTER DATABASE TRIGGER system privilege."

So the user can drop any trigger on any table

- Create synonyms and views for the specific table

=> Since the synonyms and views are created with the ID of next number in SNUM: IUUC_TABID its hard to adjust the authorizations

- Delete the synonyms and the views

  => same as above

In MSSQL it is similar to that.

How can we make sure to apply the "least privilege" principle in the source db?

3. For HANA Source systems we use encrpyted db connections (connection string with parameter ";CON_PARAM=ENCRYPT=TRUE,sslHostNameInCertificate=")

Is there a similar option for Oracle and MSSQL DBs?

Thanks for your input

Joe

NUMC or DATS gets converted to Varchar in Oracle

$

Hello All,

We are replicating data from SAP to Oracle.

For any field of SAP type NUMC or DATS, once it gets replicated to Oracle, those fields are defined as Varchar in Oracle.

I did try to define settings in table IUUC_REPL_TYPMAP, but it makes no difference.  I have the impression that this table is only useful for replications to Hana, not to an Oracle DB.

Has anyone witnessed a similar beheviour?

Thanks,

Pawel Mierski
